Thoughts on world building and populating a universe with gods and myths

The greatest acts of creation in myth are always preceded by an act of destruction. That is something that stood out to me as I trawled through myths from Hesiod to the Enuma Elish and the Norse tale of Ymir as I considered my own tale of creation.

Creating a Cosmos is a hard thing to do, it is not something you can really design or develop, it needs to grow organically, like a great tree stretching its branches throughout your world. It is not visible or tangible but its presence within a created world is constant.
